Shard of Golem is a rock trinket added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• Shard of Golem grants a special 4-heart health bar that can be filled by "overhealing", determined by gaining health that would have healed extra hearts if Isaac had more empty Red Heart containers. Filling the bar grants a damage up relative to the amount filled, up to +1.8 damage with all 4 hearts filled.
  • This health bar can be viewed by standing near a heart pickup that will overheal Golem, or by expanding the map on the HUD.
• Completely filling Shard of Golem's health bar will remove the health bar and smelt Shard of Golem onto Golem, making its damage boost permanent.

Interactions

• Shard of China: The size of Shard of China's special health bar is overridden by the size set by Shard of Golem.
  • When the health bar is filled, both held trinkets are smelted, as would be expected from filling Shard of Golem.
• Heart of China: The size of the special health bar is overridden by the size set by Heart of China.
  • If Shard of Golem is already smelted, and Heart of China's health bar is filled, a permanent +0.18 damage up is granted.
  • If Shard of China is also already smelted, the +0.15 damage up it would have granted is overridden by Shard of Golem's +0.18.
• Yum Heart: Using Yum Heart is considered a valid method of overhealing.
• Maggy's Bow: The increased value of Red Heart healing granted by Maggy's Bow is taken into consideration when calculating overheal.
• Trinket Multipliers / Henge Rock: Multiplies the amount of damage granted by Shard of Golem.
• Smelter / Gulp! Pill: Smelting or gulping Shard of Golem will make it instantly grant the full damage boost, without needing to fill its health bar. Shard of Golem will not suffer the usual penalty to its effectiveness like other rock trinkets that are smelted onto Golem.
• Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Shard of Golem rerolls it into Nitro Crystal.

Trivia

• Shard of Golem is the rock trinket equivalent to Shard of China, with the main difference being that Shard of Golem grants 0.3 more damage in total when its special health bar is fully filled.
